Hurricane Destroyed
Health Center Gets Help from
“Extreme Makeover Home Edition—After the Storm, Mississippi”
BILOXI, MS — ABC’s hit show
Extreme Makeover Home Edition aired its “After the Storm”
specials with its first special featuring the hurricane ravaged area of
Biloxi, MS. The specials begun
airing on March 23 through April 13 (Thursdays at
8:00 pm) and also focused on
hurricane recovery in Florida, New Orleans and Texas. The first episode
featured a rebuild of Coastal Family Health
Center, a Biloxi health center destroyed
by Hurricane Katrina last August. The building, which was donated by the
city, started as a 2-story house with some water damage. The Makeover team
converted it into a medical facility with office space, three exam rooms,
and a waiting area.
Totally Furniture played a
part in rebuilding the health center by donating 20 lovely chairs to
accommodate patients during their visit to the clinic.
Below is a small collection
of pictures of after the makeover was completed.
Thank you for all the
parties who were involved, it was a great opportunity to give to a
community in need.
