Buy Bedroom Furniture | Since the Industrial Revolution of the early 19th century we have seen our
society perpetually increase its dependency on technology. From the basic steam
engine, to the revolutionary microchip, there are leaps and bounds within all
branches of any given field.
What has not changed however, are our basic needs such as; sleep, rest, comfort,
shelter. Within this region of elements, we bring to your attention, the
advances in the furniture we buy
and use in our household, office and in the outdoors.
It is at the end of the day after a long stressful 8 or more hours at the
workplace or better yet, finishing one of the toughest jobs out there called
parenting, we come to a close and meet in the bedroom. Our bedroom has not
changed much in functionality but, the
furniture in
it has changed immensely.
Wood products have come a long way from its natural solid nature. Designing the
wave of the future and keeping in mind the need for low costs has created a
theme of artificial looking goods. Suffice to say the new breed of engineered
wood family such as; particleboard (also known as "chipboard" in some nations),
fiber board (MDF) and plywood, have come to the rescue and transformed the way
we live considerably.
These types of engineered wood are the most commonly known types by our
furniture
shoppers.
These days the price of a
bed constructed made from MDF (medium density
fiberboard), is much cheaper now than when MDF originally invented in the early
80’s. As technology improves so did the cost. For example, when the Modern
plywood was invented in the 19th century as an alternative to
natural wood, it
was very expensive to make thus, it was only affordable to the well established
of clientele. At the time, it was used mostly for
kitchen cabinets and
kitchen
islands however, as we developed and learned to use our resources better, the
cost of manufacturing came down and opened the doors for many more applications
and possibilities.
Aluminum and metal are not to be discarded. It is a trendy phase to get some
teen bedroom furniture in a locker style or the army camouflaged bedroom style.
There are more options these days then ever before to satisfy the needs of our
furniture consumers.
Trendy or not, the development keeps going forward.
Today we are in the midst of a new revolution “The Green Revolution” although
the US is not yet the front runner in this race, it is obvious we must at least
stride to be.
We have a great nation with unlimited resources and it is our responsibility, to
elevate ourselves from the century old idea of “use with no awareness”. We buy
use and dispose and do not think about the day after tomorrow and so it is now
imperative that furniture manufacturers do the same.
It is a great task to embark on, but not impossible to achieve!
Bedroom and
living room furniture, compared to other rooms of the house, carry
one of the largest types of products such as; Beds, sofas, clothing armoire etc.
Each is very bulky and heavy, the objective will be for manufacturer to come up
with products that will weigh less and deliver more. Which means the new
“advanced” bedroom set will be made via
a- processes which will have low ecological foot print.
b- Will not weigh as much not be bulky during shipment thus saving
transportation cost and impact.
c- Will not lose the look and quality of the product’s intended use in fact, new
technologies will have a better look and feel from the original and traditional
wood furniture.
d- Packaging materials types and integrity improved to the outmost efficiency
thus saving much wasted resources on returns and damages.
We can and we will improve the way we live, it is only a matter of time before
we get the hang of it. Our media has launched in 2008 a massive campaign to
educate and inform us, of the road ahead and we are responding well.
This is the turning point in which we will see many advancements come along,
which will make our every day life more rewarding and simple. Imagine your sofa
able to change color or texture by pressing a button or your
bedroom dresser
change width or height to match you new needs. This might seem to far fetched
however, it is out there waiting for us, the inevitable discovery of the 21st
century bedroom.
Furniture will always play a major roll in our everyday lives, as cave dwellers
we used boulders and rocks to shape our quarters, speed the clock forward and we
are doing the same with similar objective in mind but, with different materials.
