Founded in 1979 by Steve Simpson, the company's CEO and President, Prepac Manufacturing
is a state-of-the-art manufacturer of home furnishings and storage products
with its main manufacturing factory located in the heart of the forest rich
province of British Columbia, Canada.
The company originated as a prefinished product manufacturer, providing custom
printed and finished particleboard shelving for the Western Canadian building
industry. In the early 1980s, Prepac launched its first Ready to Assemble (RTA)
storage products into the Home Center industry. Success rapidly followed and
by 1984 the company began producing national RTA storage programs. Prepac is
now one of the largest producers of RTA in Canada, with full-service representation
throughout North America and distribution centers in Western Canada and Pennsylvania.
As the company has grown, so has the range of products. We still specialize
in quality, affordable storage and have added an impressive collection of home
furnishings and specialty media storage to our product mix.
The Ultimate in Packaging Delivers Right to your Door
Because of great successes with our Catalog and Internet based customers and
further fueled from the growth in special order and Kiosk sales, in 1999, Prepac
began a direct fulfillment program for our customers in which we ship orders
direct, door-to-door to the customer. Our unique foam injected packaging protection
is the first in our Industry. This system injects a hi-density sealed foam packaging
directly into every carton during packaging, which then expands within the carton
during the packaging process, filling voids and holding parts in place while
offering protection and eliminating damage. Each foam piece is individually
sealed in a plastic bag before expansion and includes a 1-800-phone number on
each piece for you to call for information with any questions about recycling.

Engineered For Excellence
To ensure our customers receive outstanding design and quality at competitive
prices, Prepac's design, engineering, production, testing and packaging are
all done in-house. Each component of every product is carefully engineered to
be produced with minimal handling, without compromising quality, function and
value. Whether shipping truckloads or individual orders, testing is done to
meet and exceed National Safe Test "Drop Test" standards. Prepac's
state-of-the-art materials management system tracks every component from cutting
through to packaged goods, inventory support, and fulfillment to final delivery.
Prepac's RTA products are made from a combination of "engineered woods."
Engineered Wood is a mixture of high quality hard and soft wood materials, which
generally come from the surplus of original lumber processing. These materials
are bonded together with a synthetic resin, in a process under high heat and
pressure to make a very stable, environmentally friendly product. The result
is dense, strong panels, which are then laminated with durable, attractive finishes.
These materials then get further manufactured into furniture components in
our precision, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. Components are inspected
and packaged with high quality hardware that is sourced worldwide to ensure
our consumers receive the best quality systems to make home assembly quick and
easy.
Two Shipping Locations For Maximum Convenience
Prepac has two shipping locations to provide you with the highest in convenience
and shipping speed. We have a factory warehouse located in Delta, BC, near Vancouver
Canada, and a shipping warehouse in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Both warehouses are located separately from the manufacturing facilities and
are linked electronically so that inventories are maintained, tracked, and shipping
information is provided instantly no matter where the customer is or where the
product is scheduled to ship from. The warehouse locations are a strategic part
of our efficient, cost effective national shipping program. This makes it possible
to provide safe, speedy delivery whether sent as truckloads, less than truckload
(LTL) orders or individual UPS or courier shipments. Minimum JIT inventories
of over 30,000 furniture pieces are maintained to support just-in-time shipping
to meet all our customer's planned requirements or forecasts.
